Artist Statement / Proposal My ambition to paint/sculpt is fueled by a creative urge that remains after a successful career in the design profession. As an architect turned artist I have an attraction to pure shapes, perhaps it is an obsession. My work tends to be minimalist sometimes leaning toward hard edge. Often I am drawn to the number Phi and all its influences throughout the ages. Phi (1.616...) is the only number of thing found in nature, music, art, architecture, human bone growth and galaxies. My paintings often explore ideas that identify and illustrate the nature of this amazing number. My sculpture explores various shapes/forms, many from found objects.
